The Mahabharat is considered one of the primary epic poems of Hindus, falling under the Smriti category. Sometimes simply referred to as "Bharat," this epic text is an unparalleled religious, mythological, historical, and philosophical scripture of India. It stands as the longest literary work and epic of the world, being one of the principal scriptures of Hinduism. Regarded as the fifth Veda in Hinduism, this text remains an invaluable source for every Indian. In addition to these, justice, education, medicine, astrology, military strategy, yoga, economics, architecture, sculpture, love science (Kama Shastra), astronomy, and jurisprudence are expansively described in this epic.

The Mahabharat narrates the Kurukshetra War and the destinies of the Kaurava and Pandava princes.
